Blogging has its benefits. Several benefits!
It drives readers & prospects to your website, establishes your brand as an industry leader, increases your search engine rankings, and develops better customer relationships. Still, there are some situations when you’re better off not managing a business blog. Here goes 9 situations to think about.
1. You Cannot Keep a Consistent Blogging Schedule
Blogging isn’t going to work any way if you’re not consistent, so it is better to avoid it altogether if you cannot keep a consistent blogging schedule. An inconsistent blog would rather leave a negative impression about your brand
Statistics show that Blogs that publish a post daily get five times more traffic as compared to those that post once a week or less.
I personally stick to minimum one post every week, generally, on Wednesdays or Thursdays for my personal blog and this consistency have been giving me leads worth $9-11k per month.
Blogging is worth your time only when you are consistent.
Note: It brings up the questions of how many posts one should put up per month. It can be as less as 1 per month up to every alternate day depending upon your industry, content availability and your time availability.
2. You Don’t Want to Hire Ghostwriters When in Need
Avoid blogging if you have little knowledge about writing quality content but don’t want to hire professional writers either.
Keep in mind that 37% of marketers believe blogging is the most important type of content marketing.
Ghostwriters can provide you with professionally written and clean work even on a short notice. All what you need to do is publish after a personality tweak if needed. You can consider hiring professional blog management agencies that take care of writing to publishing and marketing once you feed them with topics ideas. Professional writers are also knowledgeable in how SEO works, so they provide you with fully optimized blog posts that serve their purpose well.
Here is an example post on How to do Keyword Research where one of my team members helped me write the draft after my notes and this post brings me a consistent traffic as well as business leads every month. I had to spend hardly 30 more minutes to edit and make changes to polish the tone and add some graphics and stats.
3. You Don’t Have Any Idea About Your Audience Needs
Blogging won’t offer any benefits if you write without having any ideas about the needs and pains of your audience. Instead of blogging aimlessly, you will be better off not doing it at all.
Writing for hundreds of thousands of readers can kill your writing voice. Learn to address your favorite reader instead of address a crowd to making blogging work unless it is too generic subject.
Understand that your readers aren’t interested in your life or daily stories all the time (unless you’re making shit loads of money and fame every moment) – However, do consider using experiences to add some personality to your posts but your readers will only want to know what helps them be happier, healthier and more productive.
Know about them to serve them better.
4. You Don’t Want to Invest in Professional Learning
Learning and practice over time makes you a sharp blogger people would love to read and follow. Don’t blog if you’re not ready to learn more about it through professional coaching.
There are many great bloggers and coaches who walk the talk and explain the ins and outs of blogging and ways to make it more beneficial for your business. Working with them will help you understand how to get most out of blogging and your time. Be it online or offline, local or anywhere in the world, find one who you can follow to get support all the time.
Statistics show that 77% of internet users read blog and 57% off companies that blog acquire a customer directly from their blog. How do they do it? A professional blogging coach can simplify it.
5. You are not Looking for Business Growth
It is okay to do without a business blog if you’re not looking for business growth online, which is definitely not the case when you have a website, a business, and a brand to promote.
Blogging helps you with lead generation.
Small businesses with blogs may generate up to 126% more leads. B2C & B2C Statistics show that blogging about 16-20 times a month has helped businesses earn nearly 3 times as many leads.
Not utilizing blogging is absolutely okay when you’re happy and satisfied from your current business and marketing returns.
6. You’re Not Convinced It Will Work for You
Being skeptical is okay. It’s a strong businessperson’s trait.
You should not have a business blog if you’re not totally convinced it will work for your business. Again, there is no reason why a blog won’t work if you do it right. The best thing blogging does is that it makes your business visible and inspire people to do business with you irrespective of the audience and industry.
Even if we leave business aside, it helps you create a following that can convert into networks, reputation and benefits at any point of time.
Many companies have seen a 100% increase of prospecting and website traffic just by publishing one blog per week. Considering daily Google searches crossed 6 billion in 2014, it really makes sense to be in those results and blogging can help achieve that goal. So, don’t think it doesn’t work, but you cannot achieve real results if you’re not convinced already.
In short, you should not have misconceptions about blogging. Your business may survive without it, but you cannot grow it without blogging considering companies that blog have 80% new visits. Sooner or later, you would try it, then why not sooner than later.
Just invest the right amount of time, seek help to make it better, and ensure that your blog posts are consistent, relevant, and high quality. You and success both will be unstoppable.
