Finding and connecting with the social media and industry influencers will not only help you with a faster and sharper personal growth but also gets your branding and message out to many more people much faster.
I recently posted on Linkedin about how to build relationships with your industry influencers and realized the need of how to find them first. So, Here are a small handful of useful tools to find your influencers easily.
1. Followerwonk
Twitter is the home for thought leaders. And for detailed Twitter analytics, Followerwonk is great. Run a Twitter search with your industry key terms and see a list of which Twitter accounts have the highest Influence rating, most followers, most following, and how old the account is. See the account name, avatar, location and description of each Twitter account. Compare users, track users and more.

2. CircleCount
If you’re happier and more active with Google+, then delve into Google+ with CircleCount. The search feature will need the name so better ignore that and check the navigation and find most popular Google+ users. Each profile located can display a profile ranking, industry, follower history graph, average activity for most recent posts, stream of latest postings on Google+, biography and occupation, and links to related social sites for the account holder.
See how many public circles the individual has been shared to, who shared them, how many followers the sharers have, how many people are in the circle shared to, and much more.
This is a tedious task but worth to find best of 3 influencers you can follow and connect. And to make it easier, right on the homepage of CircleCount, you can check out people with most shared content and maximum following.
3. Buzzsumo
It’s straight with BuzzSumo. Find the currently popular content and see who is actively sharing this content. Run searches for individual topics and specific sites. Check sharing data across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Google+ platforms; results are listed by most shared content first. Export in CSV or XLS files for deeper review later. Those with most active and influential profiles in your industry can help you expand your quality networks.
Interestingly, you can even sort by whose content is being shared the most.
4. Traackr
If you wish to invest into paid influencers marketing campaign, pick Traackr. You can track individuals for specific marketing projects. It allows you to see latest posts across all major social channels sorted by most recent or by keyword specific or industry search. Review their footprint of different social media activity.
