This is how the business and marketing might change post COVID crisis.
And it will not be temporary. It’s going to stay, forever. It is not gradual. It has come uninformed, all of a sudden; treating all of us equal.

The Crisis & Current Scenario
Before that, 3 things we all need to remember every moment;
1. It is a contagion and this will be a part of life like flu, malaria, dengue etc. Just with better treatments and vaccines, but always a contagion. So, it’s going to stay.
2. It will take a year to have things back to the normal but with a new normal we will be adapted and used to by then.
3. You can’t keep waiting with a slow business to no business for that long. Everything might be more expensive to recover the losses and you need money, peace of mind and security of the future to survive the whole thing.
Now, the new and better scenario for every business –
Those who adopted Digital few years ago have been safe throughout this crisis. Some even saw significant growth in their businesses. So, the sooner you adopt, the lesser pain you face. You must have these things to stay secure about your business
1. A website well done
Everyone has come on social media now, even those who used to say social media is not for us, Online meeting isn’t possible – business and trust happens face to face only. Well, you got no choice now. So, have a website as soon as possible to drive traffic to your ONLY YOUR SHOP & BUSINESS place. And that can be only your website.
If you feel, social media can give you business, remember that social media has your competition as well, your prospects’ friends as well and it has all the distractions to change their minds and buying decisions.
“Use social media to market and brand yourself, to get people’s attention. Take them to your website to make the buying decision with a focused time with your products. Think of having a website as an essential.”
2. Results Will Take Longer to Appear
No matter what you do to brand yourself using advertising, videos, webinars, Lives etc. it’s going to take 5 times longer now. Because everyone is doing the same thing and people are tired of so many invitations. Almost everyone is a mess.
What to do then? –
First, relax, slow down as this phase made you to, and then review your entire business model, this time both for in the short run and for the long run. See what is missing, what you need to build and what you can do that can show people some difference from others. Seek helps from your advisors, mentors or coaches if needed.
3. Accept
You may want to accept that few things might need change. Even your business model or products or services. Just like it is all new and overwhelming for you, it’s equally new for your buyers as well. Keep that authenticity you are/were known for.
4. Adopt Digital Minimalism
There is going to be an information overload online.
In fact, there already is. Keep your copy, posts, website content, anything as short and crisp as possible. Save people’s time and win their hearts.
Mean more with lesser words and less busy visuals.
5. Narrow Down Your Audience
Narrowing down the audience will serve every business better. The buyer zone is bombarded. People have less money and more offers. Review your offers, products and services and make it available and too amazing to ignore for a specific audience instead of fit for all or broad one.
6. Get an Additional Income Source
Think of starting one more income source, preferably a passive income source that has minimum or no involvement of yourself. The best is to have a digital income source or to invest in an existing promising startup, some good stocks, or even a collaboration. But secure yourself with an additional income source even if it is small.
7. Wake up Call for Your Personal Brand
Work on your personal brand if you haven’t already started. It’s 100 times more important now.
Since everything is going to be online, figuring and establishing authority and authenticity is going to be a bigger challenge.
The only place people can see you without mask is online, in videos and in pictures from home or exclusive offices. So, make special effort to build a MORE powerful and real personal brand.
Again, seek help if needed.
That’s all for now. I will keep updating this post. So save it, bookmark it and share it with your friends who you want to see doing well.
Stay calm. Everything is settling.
